Abstract
Arterial hypertension (AH) is one of the key risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. In youngpatients with AH, significant changes in the structure of the vascular wall are observed, including endothelial dysfunction, thickening of the intima-media complex of the carotid arteries, and increased arterial stiffness. A comprehensive study was conducted, which included ultrasound assessment of the vascular wall, determination of markers of endothelial dysfunction(endothelin-1, interleukin-6), and inflammation indicators. The obtained data indicate a significant impact of prolonged elevated blood pressure on the development of vascular remodelingand the formation of atherosclerotic changes, which contribute to the risk of chronic brainischemia in young patients with AH.
