Policy on Publication Ethics and Academic Integrity

The journal "Ukrainian Journal of Psychoneurology" in its work The editorial board is guided by the recommendations of the (Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the (World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)), the principles of the (San Francisco Declaration on Scientific Assessment ), (International standards for editors and authors) and takes into account the valuable experience of reputable international journals and publishers.

In accordance with the above recommendations, the journal ensures:

  • adherence to the principles of academic integrity, honesty, and transparency at all stages of the editorial process;
  • editorial independence and decisions regarding publication based solely on the scientific merit of the material;
  • objective and impartial double-blind peer review conducted by independent experts;
  • the authors' responsibility to submit original material, properly cite sources, and avoid plagiarism, manipulation of the text, fabrication, or falsification of data;
  • confidentiality of information regarding authors, reviewers, and research participants;
  • mandatory disclosure and resolution of potential conflicts of interest;
  • timely response to violations of publication ethics in accordance with the recommendations COPE, including corrections or retractions.

Ethical obligations of the Editorial Board of the Ukrains'kyi Visnyk Psykhonevrolohii:

  • All materials submitted for publication are carefully selected and reviewed. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the article or return it for revision. The author is obliged to revise the article in accordance with the comments of the reviewers or the editorial board;
  • the editorial board should make fair and impartial decisions, independent of commercial or other interests, and ensure a fair review process;
  • The editorial board allows the dissemination of any articles from the journal or excerpts from them in electronic networks, but a link to the original source is required;
  • In accordance with international legislation on copyright for information resources, the materials of the journal may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any form (electronic or printed) without the prior written consent of the authors and the editorial board. When using published materials in the context of other documents, reference to the original source is mandatory.

Ethical obligations of the authors:

  • The research on which articles are published in the journal must be conducted in accordance with applicable laws and ethical standards;
  • The authors are obliged to present the results of the study clearly and unambiguously so that their conclusions can be confirmed by other scientists, without falsifying or improperly manipulating the data;
  • The authors of the articles are fully responsible for the content of the articles, the correctness, reliability and accuracy of the information provided;
  • Authors must comply with the requirements for publication. It is unacceptable to submit plagiarized work as original work and to submit a previously published article for publication;
  • The authors should clearly indicate the sources of all information quoted or presented and should properly cite the literature sources used, in accordance with national and international standards.

Ethical obligations of reviewers:

  • The reviewer must adhere to the guidelines on research ethics of theCommittee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and be objective and impartial;
  • The reviewer should objectively assess the quality of the manuscript, experimental and theoretical work, its interpretation and presentation, and consider the extent to which the work meets scientific standards and requirements for its implementation. The reviewer should respect the intellectual independence of the authors;
  • Any manuscripts and additional materials received for review should be treated as confidential documents. They should not be shown or discussed with third parties, except as authorized by the editor.

The editorial board is responsible for ensuring compliance with these principles, oversees the quality of scientific publications, and upholds a high level of trust in the results of scientific and applied research.
