Abstract

There were examined the gender peculiarities of immune status indexes in 100 patients with primary progressive and secondary progressive course of multiple sclerosis (MS) during progressive and stable stages of the autoimmune process (166 examinations). It was shown that immune disbalance had a diff erent structure in diff erent gender patients and characterized in women by remarkable humoral line of immunity activation both during progressive and stable stage of the disease with the weakness of inhibitory control by cellular line of immunity with T-supressors defi ciency during stable stage of secondary-progressive course of MS. In men the immune response was characterized by disbalance of both humoral and cellular line of defense on the bases of steady immunosuppression caused by decreasing level of T-helpers and B-lymphocytes during stable stages of primary-progressive MS, B-lymphocytes and T-helpers — during stable stages of secondary-progressive course of MS.
