Abstract

The indices of endothelial dysfunction have been studied in patients with diabetic encephalopathy under administration of neuroprotective preparation citicolin (ceraxon) into complex treatment. It has been established, that diabetic encephalopathy is accompanied with strengthening of endothelial desquamation and simultaneous of endothelium-dependent vasodilatation, increase of serum levels of endothelin-1 and decrease levels of nitric oxide metabolites. Displays of endothelial dysfunction more substantial in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Administration of neuroprotective preparation ceraxon into complex treatment of patients with diabetic encephalopathy allowed to improve effectively the function of vascular endothelium through the inhibition of endothelial desquamation and amplification of endotheliumdependent vasodilatation.
