Abstract
The formation of an addictive variant of deviant behaviour depends on various factors, such as mental stress, anxiety, depression, personal characteristics, and the social environment. Individuals with deviant behaviour have an increased risk of medical and psychiatric diseases, which require a comprehensive approach to their diagnosis and treatment. Predicting these individuals’ quality of life can contribute to improving programs and support to enhance their condition and avoid worsening of problems, as well as in developing and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation programs. Considering personal characteristics and factors affecting the quality of life is important for developing effective strategies for managing deviant behaviour and supporting patients’ recovery. The study aimed to assess the factors determining the quality of life of individuals with deviant behaviour. A clinical-psychopathological, psychodiagnostics study supplemented with psychometric scales was conducted on 54 male individuals with an addictive form of deviant behaviour
The study analysed the relationship between indicators of anxiety, depression, quality of life, and personality traits based on the results of psychometric tests with the definition of character accentuation and personality traits. Individuals with mixed accents were found to have higher rates of anxiety, personality traits, and depression. Correlation analysis showed a relationship between anxiety, depression, and quality of life. Using the logistic regression model, it was shown that depression, stuck-on accentuation, and emotional lability influence a decrease level of quality of life. Such data make it possible to predict and adjust the therapeutic effect in patients with deviant behaviour.
