Abstract
The article presents an overview of the current state of the study of the problem of suicides,in particular, their manifestations among patients of somatic hospitals, who are in intensive careand intensive care units. Special attention is paid to suicidal intentions and tendencies in thiscategory of patients, as well as factors that can influence the formation of such conditions.Emphasis is placed on the need to deepen the understanding of the genesis of suicidal behavior, its various forms and cause-and-effect relationships. Based on the analysis of available research, the principles of building a system for predicting and correcting suicidal tendencies are formulated. Particular attention is paid to the determination of psychiatric predictors that contributeto the formation of suicidal behavior among patients who previously had no clinical manifestationsof mental illness. Forecasting based on these factors allows timely implementation of correctivemeasures aimed at stabilizing the psycho-emotional state of patients. The developed approachesare aimed not only at reducing the number of suicides, but also at ensuring the effective rehabilitation of patients, which allows them to return to an active social life. Improving strategiesfor diagnosis, prevention and treatment of suicidal tendencies will contribute to the creationof a comprehensive system of support for patients in intensive care units, increasing the effectiveness of medical care and reducing suicidal mortality
