Abstract
The eff ectiveness of health care depends not only on the knowledge and practical skills of physicians, but also on their psychological competencies.
On the informed consent observed 113 healthcare professionals of diff erent specialties who provided medical care for patients with cerebrovascular diseases at diff erent stages of treatment: 42 therapists, 33 cardiologists and 38 neuropathologists.
The study of psychological competence has shown that physicians, regardless of specialization, were suffi ciently well aware of their own emotions and showed empathy. Moderate communicative difficulties caused the identification and infl uence on the psycho-emotional state of the patients, self-regulation of behavior through emotion control. The management of the emotional sphere was the most difficult task in terms of the implementation emotional intelligence. The consequences of professional stress included changes in the emotional state, negative cognitive patterns and a decrease in professional achievements. Based on the results of the study, important communicative competences for physicians who treat patients with cerebrovascular pathology identifi ed and developed a comprehensive system of psychological measures, which consisted of a psycho-educational and practical training part.
The introduction of a comprehensive system of psychological measures for physicians who treat patients with cerebrovascular pathology has allowed improving the awareness of medical staff about patient psychology, medical interaction, improving communication skills and counter acting professional stress.
