 У статті висвітлений сучасний підхід до розуміння етіопатогенетичного впливу черепно- мозкової травми (ЧМТ) на психопатологічну феноменологію, що включає аналіз змін, які відбуваються на рівні молекулярних і клітинних процесів, а також біохімічних та нейрофізіологічних реакцій в організмі, які можуть спричинити різноманітні психіч- ні розлади. У оглядах зарубіжної літератури акцентується на розшифровці механізмів пошкодження мозку та їх наслідків, які можуть включати астенію, когнітивні дефіцити, емоційну лабільність та поведінкові зміни, що становлять основну симптоматику після ЧМТ. Подібні психопатологічні наслідки можуть впливати на якість життя і можливості соціальної адаптації пацієнтів.
