Abstract The importance of studying the temporal characteristics of suicidal behavior is important both in theoretical and in practical terms. Each factor has its objective characteristics and inertia in infl uencing the behavior of the person and therefore requires a separate consideration. Biological factor is the most inert and infl uences the seasonal fl uctuations of suicidal activity, social factor — weekly fl uctuations and psychological factor — daily fl uctuations. On this basis the study of the seasonal, weekly and daily oscillation frequency of suicidal behavior may help to determine the importance of each factor. The study of the temporal and gender characteristics of suicide attempts made by the population of Lysychansk and surrounding areas during 2006—2013 for further assessment of predicting the suicidal activity eff ects. During the work, out of 15 thousand medical records of inpatients, who were treated in hospital departments LRPH, were analyzed 409 cases of suicidal behavior and autoagressive behavior of patients. Processing of the data was carried out by methods of mathematical statistics (standard deviation) on a computer using computational tables Excel Microsoft Offi ce 2014. The most men suicides occur in August, September and October (by 10.1 ± 0.24 %), the least — in April (5.4 ± 0.18 %). Women suicidal activity peaks in August — 11.2 ± 0.19 %. Despite the increase in suicidal activity of women in autumn, there are two months of sharp decline in the frequency of suicides. They are June — 7.2 ± 0.15 % and September — 6.6 % ± 0.14 %. Total suicidal activity increases signifi cantly in the evening (18:01 — 24:00) — 40.6 ± 0.45 %, and the afternoon (12:01 — 18:00) — 39.6 ± 0.44 %. The greatest infl uence on the suicide rate among men have psychological factors, then biological, then social. Among women — psychological, social and biological factors in given order.
