Abstract This study results the polysomnographic monitoring in 10 multiple sclerosis patients with restless legs syndrome (RLS). We identifi ed the objective changes in the functioning of somnogenic brain resulting in a change in the architectonic structure of night’s sleep, sleep phases destabilization, desynchronizing brain systems activation, NREM and REM sleep organizing disorders. Identifi ed violations, taking into account the severity of clinical symptoms. We identified the lesion of mechanisms for maintaining and switching stages and phases of sleep in multiple sclerosis with restless legs syndrome. In addition to the specifi c clinical signs caused by focal brain damage, sleep disorders can be caused by the development of secondary RLS having pathogenic mechanisms associated with functional impairment of nonspecific brain systems, which complicates the formation of multiple sclerosis symptoms.
