Abstract The article discusses the etiology and pathogenesis of comorbid mental disor-ders that accompany somatic pathology, types of mental disorders, as well as their role in the course of somatic pathology. Number of major therapeutic techniques is explained and alternative therapy is presented on the basis of known data that concern the neurophysiology of comorbid mental disorders
