Abstract The work purpose is studying of features of disorders due to use of alcohol in former serviceman (FS) with alcohol dependence (AD) in comparison with civil patients (CP). 103  patients (all are males) with AD are surveyed: FS  — 53  persons and CP — 50 persons. The alcohol use dis-orders identii cation test (AUDIT) was used for examination of all patients. It is shown, that with other things being equal AD in FS proceeds not as hard as in CP, which, possibly, is consequences of professional selec-tion of FS at take on military service, and also features of the military ser-vice properly. Power of these factors, apparently, is so considerable, that they continue to inl uence behavior of FS even after their dismissal from armed forces. It is established, that at relatives of FS with AD concern in a condition of drinking members of family takes the form of dif use anxi-ety weakly connected with concrete displays of DA.
