Abstract The article presents indexes of prevalence, incidence, and mortality due to cerebrovascular diseases, including stroke, which are based on data from an official statistics of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. These indexes have been compared with ones in Europe and the world. Risk factors of formation of cerebrovascular diseases have been demonstrated. The organization of medical care for patients with stroke in Ukraine, its defects and measure to improve it have been presented.
