Abstract An examination of 90 patients with arterial hypertension (AH) who had had silent cerebral infarctions on MRI was performed. Peculiarities of clinical-neurological impairments in the patients examined were revealed. It was demonstrated that leading neurological syndromes were extrapyramidal, pyramidal, vestibular-ataxic, pseudobulbar ones. Peculiarities of blood pressure (BP) fl uctuations in the patients examined were determined. Characteristic AH features in these patients were higher values of mean daily BP (more often during nights and mornings) than in the group of comparison. This suggests a necessity of a careful BP control and a regular taking of antihypertensive medications for patients with silent cerebral infarctions.
Key words silent cerebral infarctions, arterial hypertension, BP daily monitoring, clinical-neurological impairments.
