Abstract Level of alexithymia and types of accentuation of personality were investigated in patients with coxarthrosis. It was revealed that among patients with coxarthrosis and borderline mental disorders once with alexithymia are more in 3.8 times than among patients in the control group. High level of alexithymia was characterized for patients with severe anxiety-phobic and depressive syndrome that confi rm the known tendency about pathognomonic signs of high levels of anxiety and depression for alexithymic type of personality. Strong correlation between the presence of accentuation and borderline mental disorders was also found, i. e. there is close relationship between mental and emotional disorders and certain human traits. Increased risk of psycho-emotional disorders in patients with coxarthrosis is more peculiar for anxious, dysthimic, aff ective-exalted and sticking types of personality. In patients with anxious, demonstrative and dysthimic accentuation anxious-depressive syndrome prevails, with exalted and sticking accentuation — asthenic-hypochondriac and asthenic-anxious once. Received data of complex investigation of clinical-psychopathological and psychological features of patients with coxarthrosis, who need endoprosthetics, allowed to assess the complexity of interactions of somatic, psychogenic and constitutional characteristics of these patients.
Key words coxarthrosis, borderline mental disorders, alexithymia, accentuations.
